Hotel Boca Brava is located on the Pacific Ocean island of Boca Brava, a five-minute water-taxi ride from the Panamanian coastal village of Boca Chica, just  40km/25 mi from David and 100 km/62 mi from the Costa Rican border, in the Chiriqui Province of Panama.
Chiriqui is best known for it’s coastal beauty, including the Chiriqui National Marine Park and the inland mountain micro-climate retirement gems, Boquete and Volcan Baru. The Panamanian Dry or Summer Season sees very little if any rainfall and runs from mid-November until early May. The Wet or Winter Season runs May through October. Here in Boca Brava, it rains less than many other locations in Panama and 90% of rainfall is at night. Rain falling on the trees is the perfect sound for sleeping! Year round temperature averages show a low of 76F/24C and average high of 85F/29C. 

Getting Here

From Costa Rica, David and other cities West/North:

Bus transportation from David runs daily from the Terminal in David to the Horconcitos stop on the Interamericana Highway. Get off at the Horconcitos stop, on the right side of the highway (about 40km/25mi from David). At this intersection, you can find a local bus or a taxi ($15) to take you to the dock in Boca Chica. 

If you are driving, look for the Horconcitos turnoff about 40 km/25mi from David, on the right side of the road. From this intersection, turn right and drive the newly paved road 20km/13mi to the dock in Boca Chica. 

Water taxis from the dock in Boca Chica to the hotel are $2 per person and a local boat taxi can be found day or night.

From Panama City and the East:
Bus transportation from the Terminal in Albrook (beside Albrook Mall) in Panama runs to David multiple times per day. See above for direction from the Bus Terminal in David.

If you are driving, head towards Costa Rica and turn left at the sign for Horconcitos, about 40km/25mi before David. From this intersection, turn right and drive the newly paved road 20km/13mi to the dock in Boca Chica. 

Water taxis from the dock in Boca Chica to the hotel are $2 per person and a local boat taxi can be found day or night.

From the Port of Pedregal, David:
A boat ride to Isla Boca Brava from Pedregal averages about 45 - 60 minutes.
